si sarlito went out and bought a big leafy tree(balite). gipaputol niya ug gidala niya didto sa kwarto. it filled about half of the room. si archie went out and bought all the cogon grass apil pa uhot sa humay. gidala sa room and filled most of the room. si ariel was the smartest. he went to a small sari sari store and bought a candle worth for 5 pesos. in the evening, he called his dad over to the large empty room. he then put the candle down on the floor in the middle of the room and lighted it. after a minute or so he turned to his father and said, "dad, can you see any little corner of this room which is not filled by the light of that candle? si ariel ang nakakuha sa ilang negosyo.
mga igsuon ko diha ni Kristo karun gisaulog sa atong simbahan ang kapistahan o solemnidad sa Epipanya o pagpadayg sa atong Ginoo Hesukristo. si Kristo mao ang kinatibuk-ang pagpadayag sa kinaiyahan sa Dios ngadto sa tanang mga tawo. ang kahayag mga gasiga sa kangitgnitan mao ang centro nga mensahe sa kapistahan sa epipanya. the church celebrates the manifestation of Jesus Christ who is the full revelation of God's love for humanity. the three wise men (baltazar, melchor, gazpar) represent people from the different parts of the world who accept Jesus as the light that brightens the whole world, a light no darkness can extinguish.
ang star nga gisunod sa mga mago o wise men nagdala kanila kang Jesus nga mao ang star sa mga stars. but, people nowadays follow the wrong star (movie star, money, fame, vanity, dominion, power). adore the wrong star (santa vs. Jesus/ myself vs.Jesus). some of it became fanatic of their star...diamond star (maricel), mega star (shawe), star for all season (ate v.), superstar (nora),star margarine, star breat, motor moonstar, inum kay makakita dayun ug star, bold star, ug uban pa.
kamu nga ania diri kinsa man ang inyong star? kana bang inyong star makapadala bana kaninyo kang Kristo? kana bang inyong star nagdala ba na ug kahayag diha sa inyong kinabuhi?...try to ponder that one...(star represents our faith...magi follows...find Jesus).
isip mga katoliko ang bibliya, pagsimba, pag ampo, pag pangumpisal ug uban pang mga sakramento sa simbahan ug uban pang maayong binuhatan-these are just a few of an endless list of stars that can bring us to the Lord. but unsay nahitabo? instead mobasa ug bibliya didto na noon sa pocketbooks, text, facebooks, etc...naa koy usa ka amega nga book lover..himasa ka ayo siya..one time ako naka pangutana pila na ka pocket books imong nabasa? 50 brother..wow...gisundan ko dayun siya ug pangutana how about the bible?nabasa na ba nimo? wala! na a pa gyuy usa ka tinuod nga istorya nga nahetabo diha sa convento..suko kaayo ang amanahn ug inahan kay wala na bunyagan ilang anak kay wala na ka seminar ang mga maninoy...miingon sila unsa na ba ning simbahan ooi dagway ug kwarta...subo kaayo pamalandungon mga igsuon kay wala nasabtan unsa ka importante ang seminar...kung mukuha bitaw ug lisenya mo seminar biya ta..pero pag sa simbahan na gani bagotbot na dayon...
the feast of Epiphany reminds us of our special calling to be light of the world. we are to be living images of our Lord who overcame darkness by his very life. christians no matter how ordinary or how little, are called to share the love of God to everyone. and it must begin diha sa sulod sa atong pamilya. it must be initiated first sa ginikanan...be a star sa inyong mga anak...give light sa inyong mga anak...how? have time with them, be with them, love them, protect then, support them, teach them, etc...
sa laing bahin mga igsuon naay usa ka spiritual writer nga mi identify nga naay duha ka force sa kalibutan. una, the force of having. pangkaduha the force of giving.
herod is the exact representative of the force of having. he only thinks of himself and of what he can get. herod's wanted to kill the innocent children and any others whom he suspects as rival to the throne. if the force of having rules, there would be chaos, darkness and death. what happened to maguindanao massacre? diha sa pamilya para ma preserve ang dungog..kung ang ilang anak naburosan..ila dayun i pa abort...
the 3 wise men represent the force of giving. they recognize a greater power that controls everything in the world. their humble recognition of God's sovereignty moves them to go out of their comfort zones in order to find the light of lights. if the force of giving rules, there would be peace, happiness and fullness of life. mother theresa of calcutta is one of the examples of this force.
ang hagit kanato ksarun mga igsuon is that: what we need today are not more church members or goers but more christian witnesses, less talkers but more doers of God's word. (words can convince but works can convert).
lastly, there's a short article by an anonymous author entitled "what is christianity?" which shows christian faith in concrete terms, thus:

toward the unfortunate it is pity
toward the weak it is help
toward the wicked it is resistance

ug kung mabuhat nato ning tanan mga igsuon in our own little way...mamahimo kita usab nga star o kahayag diha sa atong pamilya, katilingban, ug diha sa mata sa Ginoo.
