(Parish Youth Day homily at Catumbalon)
maayong buntag sa tanan ug merry Christmas!
you might ask? why interrupt our Christmas festivities with this? why should this fourth day of xmas not be a day of happiness, rather that a commemoration of murdered infants?
instead of the new born Christ-child, we hear of the massacre of children. instead of peace on earth, goodwill towards men, we hear of envy, jealousy, and malice. instead of festive white and gold, the church and her ministers are vested this morning in red, symbolizing the blood of martyrs.
we call this Holy Innocents martyrs because they died in the place of Christ. in Jesus' day human life was cheap. St. Matthew is the only writer to record this event for history.

unsaon man paghatag nato ug kinabuhi sa uban? share your faith to them, let them know who Jesus is ug kini mao na dayun ang sinugdan sa kinabuhi sa tawo. kay kung tan awon nato karun daghang mga bata nga mura napud ug patay. dili ga simba, daghan ug bisyo, dili na mo eskwela, di na moto-o ug Ginoo, walay higala, ug uban pa. unta kamo ang maka inspire sa ila nga naa pa diay pag-asa. gitahasan kamu sa simbahan nga motodlo ug maayo sa uban ninyong mga batan-on arun sila mabuhi pag-usab uban ni Kristo.
ug dapat diri magsugod sa atong kaugalingong komunidad. dapat ninyong itudlo nga, "when Christ is valued before self, human life is given its respect. when self is valued above Christ human life is endangered." mga pinalangga kong mga youth sa valencia, unta si Kristo naa nay luna diha sa inyong kasingkasing kay unsa may intong itodlo sa uban kung wala ka ana...
naay estorya: a child saw a man releasing to the sky balloons of different colors and sizes. some flew higher than the others. "why do those balloons fly higher?" asked the child. "is it because of their sizes and colors?" "no!" the man replied. "it's what's inside them.
the lesson from our story is that it's not the color of the person nor his gender that makes them soar high but what's inside them-their good traits, their integrity, their character.

ug sa katapusan ako nanghinaut nga kamu unta dili usa ka babag sa mga batan-on diha sa pagtoong katoliko. mga youth sa valencia kaya ba nato kini buhaton?
in this xmas season we must remember nga nagpakatawo ang Ginoo arun makig-uban kanato ug makig relasyun kanato...remember nga we are very special to God.
we must celebrate the xmas season everyday in our hearts. let us always celebrate life because life is God's gift to us and how we live our life is our gift to God.
you must believe in yourself that you are love, special and precious in God's eyes. you must believe that you can change the world, change the face of the earth especially here in our city particularly in our chapel.
