FUNERAL HOMILY
Maayong buntag sa
tanan!
I have a question to
ask, what is the purpose of creation?
The main purpose of
creation is that man will inherit God’s kingdom and to have friendship and
fellowship with God.
How to inherit God’s
kingdom? Of course we will undergo first
sufferings and death. LIKE JESUS.
The best analogy of
death is an image of a seed...liso...
Kung magtanum tau g
liso, ilubong nato siya sa yuta, malata ug ayha pa motubo ug modako, molambo ug
mo bloom.
Many people think that
the story of human life is...birth...life...and death...for us Christians it is
different.
The story is not
birth...life...and death...but life...death...and resurrection...
Life is a journey from
life to eternal life. The end of the
story is resurrection, a life that has no end.
The farewell that we
give to _________today is a temporary farewell; the burial we give to
_________is a temporary burial. He will
live! And he will rise!
In the midst of all of
this, should we grieve? Yes, brothers
and sisters, it is okay to grieve; it is natural, because we love __________.
Even Christ wept when
his friend Lazarus died...and he wept even though he was bring him back to
life.
Yes, we Christians
grieve. But we grieve with hope. It is okay to be sad today that we do not see
______ anymore, but it would be wrong to think we will never seed him again.
It is okay to grieve,
but it is wrong to despair.
Christ is alive! We pray today for ___________that he may
complete the journey to heaven. Pray for
him everyday and for yourselves.
Si Florentino nagpuyo
sa Valencia, pero dili siya para sa Valencia.
He works at NIA pero
dili siya para sa NIA.
He belongs to a certain
family but dili siya para sa iyang pamilya.
Si Florentino natawo sa
kalibutan dili para sa kalibutan kundili para siya sa GINOO.
Look at him today and
say with faith, “_________, you do not belong to death. You belong to Christ, and so do we.”
Lastly...(sharing of
karell ann his daughter)
p.s. “Florentino”
Spanish word for “blooming”
challenge then is that
let us be blooming here on earth...blooming in following Jesus Christ. AMEN!
